As everything winds down for the holidays, we know most people find themselves with time to pick up a good book. We asked our investment team for some recommendations and here they are:

1. VC: An American History by Tom Nicholas

A quick read about how and why VCs developed as they did in America as well as how the VC mind set was integral to America's growth and position as a world leader.

2. Daring & Disruptive, unleashing the entrepreneur by Lisa Messenger

Well-put, simple advice. Lisa Messenger uses her life’s story of hard work, guts and determination and indicates 10 actions to lead you to the path of success.

3. Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man’s Fight for Justice by Bill Browder

Written like a thriller, this true-life exposé shines a light on the dark shadows leaking around Russia’s finance industry. The whole story is gripping and so well written.

4. The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company by Robert Iger

A great read about leadership, innovation and humanity. The book is loaded with honest insights into being entrepreneurial in the ultimate corporate environment.

5. Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike by Phil Knight

Well written story about Nike and how Phil Knight built it into the £30m business that it is. Great for fanning a spark of an idea or a dream and giving you the extra push to make it a reality.

We hope you enjoy these books and we hope you have a great holiday season!
