In February of this year we celebrated our annual Investor Day, which marked our 14th Investor Day as a company and our 4TH one as a public company. Our Investor Day is an opportunity for leading CEOs from our portfolio to meet and inform Investors about their progress and plans.
Our new CEO Martin Davis opened the day by introducing himself and his career experience in tech and financial services. He talked about the changes in the market from this past decade to the next and our responsibility as a VC firm to link private capital to entrepreneurs. Martin also emphasized the importance of Draper Esprit’s ability to support and help start-ups on their journey from early seed stage all the way to pre-IPO with the use of programs like our Fund of Funds, VCT, and EIS.
Simon Cook, our CIO discussed ‘Thinking in Decades” with the audience, highlighting the accuracy of some fun, classic film technology predictions and looked at how technology has moved on and been innovated over the decades. He also provided an update on our EIS and VCT investments.
A number of our core portfolio companies presented to investors including Graphcore, Trustpilot, Ravenpack, and Pollen, just to name a few. We also heard from a few of our new portfolio companies like Decibel, Thought Machine, and Paragraf.
Investor Day is always a great opportunity to get our portfolio companies in front of our investors as well as get so many great minds into one room. After hearing the positive feedback, we had from this year’s event, we can’t wait for next years.
